Mindfulness-Integrated Cognitive Therapy for Migraine (MICT-M) is a psychiatrist-led, 8-week virtual group psychotherapy program offering evidence-based mindfulness-based interventions (MBIs) to help patients manage chronic pain.

MICT-M groups are delivered virtually to patients across British Columbia, and are fully covered for BC patients covered by MSP with a referral from a physician or nurse practitioner.

Summary of clinical evidence for cognitive and mindfulness-based interventions for chronic migraine pain

Cognitive therapy and mindfulness-based interventions have a growing body of evidence to support their use in management of chronic migraine.

This program uses a range of clinical interventions based on evidence-based frameworks including cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT), mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR), mindful self-compassion (MSC), and compassion-focused therapy (CFT).
